AnnDuff — degreasing paste for cats, 500 g
Why might you need such a paste?
This product is designed to specifically remove excess oil and sebum from your cat's coat - especially useful before bathing or when the coat has "greasy spots". It helps cleanse the skin and coat in areas with increased sebum production: the chin (for small blackheads or "acne"), the base of the tail, along the back, and other areas where oil accumulates and can oxidize, causing an unpleasant odor or contamination.
This pre-cleansing helps the shampoo work more effectively and prevents dirt from clumping or sticking to the oily coat. This is especially helpful if the coat looks heavy, greasy, or has oil stains.
Who and when should use the paste?
For cats that have oily or dirty fur, especially in “problem areas”.
If the coat needs pre-cleaning before bathing, so that the shampoo works better.
In cases where regular combing or washing does not give an adequate effect: greasy stains, unpleasant odor, clumping of fur.
For cats with thick or long fur, where sebum can accumulate, it is harder to wash off and leaves marks.
How to use it correctly: step-by-step instructions
Find areas with increased fat accumulation: chin, base of tail, back, others where the fur looks greasy or sticky.
Apply the paste locally to dry (or almost dry) fur, carefully separating the fur so that the product reaches the skin.
Leave the paste on the indicated areas for a few minutes (the time depends on the degree of contamination).
Rinse thoroughly with warm water (approximately 38–40 °C) to completely remove the paste from the coat and skin.
After rinsing, you can continue with standard bathing or cleansing — with shampoo/conditioner as needed.
This approach helps get rid of excess sebum and makes further coat care easier, reducing the risk of grease buildup and odors.
Why degreasing can be important - a little about coat physiology and health
In cats, natural cleaning is usually done by the animals themselves through their tongue, a "comb" with small papillae that removes dirt and excess sebum.
However, if the skin or coat produces too much sebum (oil), or the coat is long and thick, self-cleaning may not be enough and additional cleaning may be necessary. Overgrown areas of sebum can lead to matted fur, unpleasant odors, or even skin irritation.
Using a specialized degreasing paste before bathing allows for better removal of excess oil, providing a deeper cleanse and promoting a healthier, cleaner, and easier-to-care-for coat.
For whom this may not be necessary or requires caution
It is worth remembering that too frequent or too aggressive degreasing can lead to the removal of the skin's natural oil mantle - the layer that protects the skin and coat.
Therefore, such a paste should only be used when it is truly necessary - after excessive oiliness, before deep cleansing or washing.
